(Zaman al-Wasl)- The AFP news agency broadcasted a report showing militia fighters it referred to as, “Iranian Kurds including women who are participating in battles to liberate al-Mosul.”
The two-minute long report, showed women in military fatigues carrying rifles, and some of them are wearing the Kurdistan flag tied around their foreheads. The video then showed some of the female fighters shooting while one of the Peshmerga fighters said, “when the enemy occupies any land, its citizens must be active in defending it.”
Another Peshmerga member said, “women are subject to oppressive and violence and she must participate in defending her rights, they (women) are not less than us, they (women) were with us on the front lines, and we have fought together for more than two years.”
