(Zaman Al Wasl)- Militias of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have Sunday completely controlled the town of Tal al-Samen in Northern countryside of Raqqa, following clashes with the Islamic State, backed by air strikes of US-led alliance.
A military source confirmed that Liwa of Thowar al-Raqqa has confirmed to Zaman al-Wasl that forces supported by the US-led alliance have Saturday night controlled the town of Tal al-Samen, 28 kilometers away from the city of Raqqa after. The source mentioned that the town is the second most important site controlled by SDF after the village of al-Harisha.
The source mentioned that Tal al-Samen is important for its site at the connection point for many roads northern of Raqqa, and two routes coming from the towns of Tal Eisa and Sharkrak meet at the town of Tal al-Samen western of al-Balikh river, moreover it connects the western side of the village with the Eastern via a route coming from al-kntari through a bridge.
The source detailed that the SDF have controlled sites northern of the giant irrigation channel, expecting that recent battle would be limited to the sites prior to the channel which form a huge arch around Raqqa city.
In a the same content, Kurdish media of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) mentioned that the operation room of Euphrates Anger operation has controlled the town of Tal al-Samen Saturday following three days of clashed with the Islamic State, adding that 3 car bombs were blown off during clashed in the besieged villages since a week.
People’s Protection Units (YPG), military wing of PYD have announced via a statement that the Islamic State had Saturday launched an attack at their sites in the village of Shams Aldin southern east of Tishrin Dam at Euphrates river resulted in many casualties from both sides and capturing bodies of 4 members of the Islamic State.
