(Zaman Al Wasl)- Executive director of Balloon of Life project said the likelihood that the jet downed recently over Aleppo city was brought down for real by a balloon launched towards it at night in the framework of the project.
Mohamed Ameen Hamoud told Zaman al-Wasl the project personnel provided the balloons with a nails that can enable them to stay in 2 to 3 kilometers height range and it is the range of L39 jet which as he said was flying at night to raid the road from Khan al-Assal until Orm al-Sughra with gun shots 23 with explosive ammunition and c5, c7 missiles.
According to Hamoud, the nails were changed to hard bolts, clarifying that as the balloon entered the jet, it fired once and its sound changed amid the complete darkness which let the pilot to move east to land in al-Nairab or Qwires airport, but he failed and the jet exploded.
Hamoud believes that hydraulic circuits in the jet might have failed and the engine exploded above Aleppo, the two pilots flying it could not jump off the jet and the regime announced their death later.
Hamoud confirmed that Balloon of Life project personnel launch balloons during the day which forces warplanes to fly higher than balloons level and deprives warplanes from launching their raids as planned.
Downed L39 is a training jet and has two seats. It is provided with gun machine and rockets and usually it surveys road at night.
