(Zaman Al Wasl)- Six civilians have been killed Tuesday in air strikes hit the southern countryside of Idlib province as regime and key ally Russia wage brutal aerial bombing that killed 80 people in three days, local activists said.
The strikes hit a marketplace in the village of Kafr Sajnah. Three more people, Two women and a child, lost their lives in strikes targeted towns of Hass, Maaret al-Na'san, Hazano, Zaredna and Maaret al-Numan.
On Monday, the volunteer Civil Defense group said Monday that 6 children and two men had been killed in Russian air strikes on the northern neighborhood of Idlib city.
The group said 18 people were also killed in Russian strikes on the town of Maaret al-Numan, where an AFP photographer saw rescue workers and residents trying to pull survivors from rubble at a market.
The monitor reported two additional deaths, one in an earlier strike on Maaret al-Numan and another in Al-Naqir, also in Idlib.
It said six civilians, four of them children, had been killed in a regime barrel bomb attack on the town of Al-Tamanah in the same province.
The Education Directorate in rebel-held province suspended teaching in the schools for three days.
On Sunday, at least 26 people killed in regime air strikes on the northern town of Kafranble town, Civil Defense said. The 4 strikes hit a crowded area next to an elementary school, the rescuing group said.
Russia, a staunch ally of Bashar Assad's regime, began a military intervention in support of Damascus in September 2015.
Moscow says it is targeting "terrorists" and has dismissed reports of civilian casualties in its strikes.
