Turkish-backed FSA kills 38 ISIS militants near al-Bab city

(Zaman Al Wasl- Anadolu)- At least 38 ISIS militants, including senior commander, have been killed in northern Aleppo province in the last 24 hours as part of the ongoing Operation Euphrates Shield to capture the group's stronghold of al-Bab city, Turkish army said Thursday.

Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters backed by the Turkish army destroyed at least 74 ISIS targets using howitzers, multiple rocket launchers, mortars and tanks, the Turkish army's statement added.

The Turkish army is supporting FSA fighters in liberating Al-Bab, a strategic city for ISIS, from the hardliner group after 5 months of siege.

The Turkey-led Operation Euphrates Shield began in late August to improve security, support coalition forces and eliminate terror threats along the Turkish border using FSA fighters backed by Turkish artillery and jets.
