Footage has surfaced on the Internet for
female detainee, recently freed with 63 women detainees as part of a
weekend hostage exchange with the Lebanese hostages and Turkish pilots.
Activists said it was
deeply impressive scene to see the detainee's parents and the whole family
crying, unbelieving that their daughter release, a dream turned to be truth.
One commentators on
the video said, this girl was not arrested but kidnapped by brutal regime who
wants a ransom, so when the Iranian, Turks paid it, women detainees were
freed.
Among the freed women activists was a cancer patient who had been imprisoned twice before and whose husband has been killed in Syria's 31-month-old conflict, according to AFP.
Another of those
freed had been imprisoned "because her uncle is a dissident and her father
is a dissident lawyer," Activist said.
The rest were
humanitarian activists, two of whom never faced trial.
There has been no
official comment in Damascus on the detainees.
Tens of thousands of
people are being held by the Syrian regime, many of them without trial,
activists say. Rights groups say torture and ill-treatment are systematic in
Syria's jails.
