Egyptian authorities prevent film director entering Cairo under pretext of belonging to FSA

The Egyptian authorities at Cairo International Airport banned the Syrian director Nidal Hassan from entering the country, based on a petition filed by the Assad Embassy in Cairo for security reasons, accusing Hassan of belonging to the Free Syrian Army.

 Hassan was invited to Egypt to participate with his short film "real stories about love, life and death and sometimes the revolution" in the activities of the Ismailia International Festival of Documentary and Short Cinema.

Kamal Abdul Aziz, head of the festival, assured that the Egyptian decision is out of his hands or his administration, he tried to do his best but he can't let the Syrian director to enter what is supposed an Arab country.
