(Zaman Al Wasl)- Israeli warplanes late on Thursday have conducted 8 airstrikes on Damascus' Mezzeh military airport, destroying ammunition depots, activists said.
Israel has used its F-35 fighters jets for the first time in hitting Syrian targets.
Conflicting reports said Israel has also targeted the army's elite Fourth Armored Division that led by Bashar al-Assad's youngest brother Maher, the de facto commander of the Republican Guard.
Yet, The regime-run news agency has not confirmed the Israeli attack.
Also in the capital, a powerful blast caused by a suicide bomber hit a heavily policed Kafr Sousa neighborhood on Thursday with at least seven people killed, state television said.
The state television says a suicide bomber blew himself in the Kafr Sousa where some of Syria's main security installations are located.
Footage on state media showed splattered blood and wreckage of several cars with dozens of heavily armed security personnel at the site of the explosion.
Last July a car bomb also hit Kafr Sousa near an Iranian school in an attack that killed several people in the area, close to the main Umayyad Square that connects the city with several highways. (With AFP)
