Syria regime moved most fighter jets from ISIS-besieged T4 base: source

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime has moved most of its fighters jets from the embattled T4 military air ports in the past two weeks over fears the Islamic State will succeed in taking the strategic base in Syria desert, sources said.

The military sources said 20 Su-24 and Su-22 were transferred to the Iran-controlled airport of al-Shuairat in eastern Homs. 3 Gazelle helicopters have also left T4.

On Saturday, regime forces took ground from ISIS near the besieged air base after major attack launched in the eastern countryside of Homs province.

Backed by heavy aerial bombing and National defense militia, the Assad forces controlled al-Qaryatin road, key supply route to T4 airport.

The radical group said, in return, its fighters had killed at least 15 troops in the clashes.

A senior commander in Lebanese Hezbollah militia was also killed in the eastern countryside of Homs on Friday, sources said.
