At least 84 soldiers from Assad's heartland town killed in January

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 84 officers and soldiers from Bashar la-Assad's heartland town have been killed in January, pro regime activists said.

Qardaha town in the coastal Latakia province has mourned 84 army troops, including 18 officers, killed on different battlefield, especially in the eastern countryside of Homs province.

The town of the Assad family considered as a main manpower supply to the regime army and allied National defense militia.

Pro-regime social media pages said no youth left in Qardaha, in hint to the mounting death toll since the Syrian revolution erupted in 2011.
