Teaching suspended in Daraa city as regime warplanes kill 6 people

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Teaching has been suspended in the schools of southern Daraa city as regime warplanes randomly pound the city, a local governing council said Tuesday.

The statement of the Free Daraa Council said the school will be temporarily shut until Thursday unless the aerial bombing continued.

The bombing has killed 6 people in airstrikes targeted a field hospital in the Old City of Daraa, making is out of service.

The towns of Saida, Nu’aima and al-Yadoda were under regime airstrikes while an array of western countryside villages have been pounded by regime heavy artillery, activists said.

Free Syrian Army fighters on Monday have captured half of al-Manshiya neighborhood in Daraa after three days of fierce clashes.

The Free Syrian Army said 5 regime officers were killed and dozen wounded in al-Manshiya, the strategic neighborhood that situated at the heart of border city.

In its turn, pro-regime al-Masadr news site said 20 rebel fighters have been killed by the regime army since the beginning of clashes on Saturday.
 
Al-Manshiya is a home for 20,000 people who enjoyed over two year of calm since the freeze of fighting in the southern city.
