Fighting renews between Tahrir al-Sham and Jund al-Aqsa in Hama, Idlib

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Clashes flared again between Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham and Jund al-Aqsa in Idlib and Hama provinces as negotiations to end the infighting failed on Wednesday, local activist said.

The activist who spoke on condition of anonymity attributed the erupting clashes to Jund al-Aqsa refusing to exit with light weapon from Idlib and Hama countryside to ISIS-controlled regions east of Syria.

He confirmed that Tahrir al-Sham has besieged Jund al-Aqsa fighters in several areas in Hama and Idlib including Haish, Khan Sheykhun and Mork.

U.S. based monitoring service reported on Wednesday that Jund al-Aqsa group killed more than 150 members of rebel factions in the village of Khan Sheikhoun in southern Idlib.

Whereas former fighter in Jund al-Aqsa told Zaman al-Wasl that Idlib strip fighters in Jund al-Aqsa refused to participate in the fighting between the two sides. He considered that Jund al-Aqsa fighting Ahrar al-Sham in Idlib previously was to respond to assaults and not to extend power like what is happening today between Jund and Tahrir al-Sham.

Both Tahrir al-Sham and Jund al-Aqsa are also fighting against FSA rebel factions. Jihadist groups attacked (FSA) for sending delegates to peace talks in Kazakhstan last month.
