(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime warplanes conducted at least 100 raids on the besieged northern and eastern suburbs of Damascus in the last 24 hours as regime extends its unprecedented aerial campaign despite ceasefire calls, local activists said.
The Syrian warplanes carried out 61 raids in Eastern Ghouta, 40 raids in suburbs of Barza, Qaboun and Harasta
In mid February, regime warplanes killed 16 people in Qaboun in strikes hit a funeral. More victims lost their lives in the towns of Harasta and Douma.
More strikes targeted Eastern Ghouta district , Harasta and Douma.
Pro-regime media outlets have accused rebels of pounding got-held areas with mortar and RPG shells.
Analysts say regime army, and for the first time, wants its battlefront to be on fire amid concerns that Russians seek solution for the 6-year-old war. Such a solution will not satisfy Bashar al-Assad and his key allies, Iran, Hezbollah and Shiite militias.
