(Zaman Al Wasl)- Senior air force pilots from Iran visited Shuairat military airport in central Homs province on Wednesday as the Syrian regime’s key ally sends more troops to bolster army against ISIS and moderate rebels, well-informed sources said.
Most of Syria’s airbase turned to Russia and Iran control where the key allies provide countless military support.
Shuairat base is situated on the fighting line with the Islamic State that controls swaths of territory in the Syrian desert.
No more details revealed about the purpose of the visit to Shuairat base that comes with reports assuring death of about 2100 Iranians fighters in Syria, most of them killed in Aleppo battles.
Russia has also had presence in Shuairat.
Last September, Russia has fortified Shuairat military airport with more shields and checkpoints as well has installed surveillance cameras.
