Landlord dies ater Kurdish militias looted his land, arrested sons


(Zaman Al Wasl)- Abdullah al-Hassan, 52, has lost his life fearing of losing everything he had, sons, properties and money, thanks to the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Activist Mostafa Mohammed told Zaman al-Wasl the story of Abdullah al-Hasan who was one of rich men in his area in Raqqa countryside, where he owned big area of land, agricultural vehicles, tractors, houses, cattle of sheep, but everything was seized by the Democratic union Party’s militias, although they claim that they come to the area to liberate people of the Islamic State.

Al-Hasan is one of thousands of civilians who were victims of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), as the militias strip them of their properties and mandatory recruited their sons to fight with the party against the Islamic State.

Activist Mustafa detailed that the man is married of two women and had many children, from the tribe of Albo Assaf, one of the greatest in Raqqa, lived in the village of al-Ghazli, 55 km northern of Raqqa city.

The activist mentioned that armed men of Syrian Democratic Forces (SF) had accused the family of al-Hassan of supporting the barrier belonged to the Islamic State at the entrance of the village, and they revenged from residents of the village because they spent long time to control it before entering the village, they targeted al-Hassan because he was rich and fabricated many accusations against him and his sons and investigate with them, beside imprisoning his sons.

A legal source confirmed that al-Hassan had no connection to any party, he was just a rich man worried about his belongings, especially from strangers and new comers, and tried to keep away from them to protect himself and properties, but according to the source, PYD has adopted that plan to displace people and seize their land and houses.

Activist Yaser al-Jasim, specialist in covering Raqqa news, reported that PYD had seized 2000 Acres of al-Hassan, added to many tractors, vehicles, water pumps and pipes, besides taking over his luxurious house in the village, all that caused him a heart attack, as what happened was over his ability to tolerate.

Al-Jasim detailed that PYD had released a-Hasan’s son for a huge amount of ransom, which confirmed that there was no real accusation, only a blackmailing attempt.

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) which includes the powerful Kurdish YPG militia, the military wing of PYD, had launched its multi-phased campaign against ISIS last November, aimed at encircling and ultimately capturing Raqqa province.

The first phase of Euphrates Anger targeted areas north of Raqqa city. The second phase has started almost 6 weeks ago, targeting areas to the west of the city to capture the Islamic State-held Euphrates dam, besides encircling and controlling the road to militant strongholds in Deir Ezzor province.

Syrian Democratic Forces had Thursday February 9, launched the third stage of Euphrates Anger that started last November 6, and started a new front at the route next to Raqqa-Hasaka.

Two weeks ago, a new American shipment of arms, including American anti-mine vehicles had arrived the province of Hasaka in order to be to be handed Syrian Democratic Forces, where it had arrived to the camp of Tal-Bader northern of Hasaka.
