Rebels thwart regime attack as bombing kills 13 people in northern Aleppo

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian rebels thwarted regime major attack near Aleppo city as regime heavy artillery on residential districts killed 13 people in the northern countryside, local reporter said Monday.

The regime forces backed by allied militias seek to capture regime bastions in the districts of Lairamoun, Jameyat al-Zahra'a and Tellat al-Ferfo. Heavy clashes took place all the night, Zaman reporter said.

The regime artillery rocked the densely populated neighborhoods with more than 1500 shells.

in their turn, rebels killed 15 army troops and destroyed armored vehicles. Two soldiers were held captive, activists said.
 
In the northern countryside of Aleppo, 13 civilians, including 4 women and 3 children, were killed in the aerial and ground bombardment.

Meanwhile, residents of Hraitan, Anadan and Yaqed la-Adas have been fleeing toward the western countryside over fears of regime offensive.

Aleppo's northern countryside that overlooks at the Turkish border is divided between regime forces, Kurdish militia and moderate rebels.
