Assad forces arrest Secretary General of National Co-ordination in Damascus

Assad Security forces have arrested the Secretary General of the National Co-ordination Body for Democratic Change  in Damascus Wednesday, president of the Co-ordination said.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Haytham Manna, France-based external head of the NCB, said that Mr. Raja'a al-Nasser, the Secretary General of the National Co-ordination has been arrested in al-Baramekeh the center suburb of the Syrian Capital by the regime forces, demanding an immediate release to the prominent dissident.

Nasser’s colleague Abdel-Aziz al-Khair disappeared in September 2012 upon his return to Damascus after an official visit to Russia and China to discuss possible negotiations with the Syrian regime to try to end the crisis.

Activists said that al-Khair had died under torture after being held for 10 months by Syrian intelligence.
