Tahrir al-Sham halts ISIS evacuation deal in Yarmouk Camp

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Fierce fighting between Tahrir al-Sham and ISIS took place in Yarmouk Camp south of Damascus on Thursday, field sources told Zaman al-Wasl.

Powerful Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, an alliance led by former al-Qaeda affiliate, has stormed ISIS bastions in the besieged camp to halt an evacuation deal allowing ISIS fighters to leave to the Syrian north due to the Four-Towns agreement.

Amaq, ISIS news agency, said 5 fighters from Tahrir al-Sham were killed in the clashes.

For over a year and half, ISIS fails to deport its fighters to the de facto capital of Raqqa in northeastern Syria.

Despite the unspoken deal between ISIS and Syrian regime in the southern suburbs of Damascus, the Islamist rebels keep halting the evacuation of ISIS fighters. Jaish al-Islam did in early 2016 and now Tahrir al-Sham is doing so, sources said.
