(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime has redeployed troops near Jabal al-Akrad area in the coastal Latakia province, eyewitness told Zaman al-Wasl Sunday.
The Brigade 103, a Republican Guards unit, has been replaced by special forces from Brigade 53 besides militants from the paramilitary National Defense group.
During the 7-year-old war, regime forces have failed to expel rebels from the heartland of Assad's family where skirmishes always take place in Jabal al-Akrad and Jabal al-Turkman mountainous areas near the Turkish border.
