30 troops from coastal Tartus killed in two weeks: activist

 (Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 30 regime army troops from the coastal city of Tartus have been killed in the last two weeks, activist told Zaman al-Wasl.

The death toll included 9 officers, mostly killed in the Syrian desert, Daraa and Damascus suburbs, according to activists Mustafa al-Banyasi

Residents of Tartus, the regime's powerful militant supplier, say no men left in the city. Funeral everywhere and everyday.

Tartus suffered decades of negligence and constant resentment in comparison with the next-door city of Latakia where services and tourism and fortune.

The Syrian regime army with Iran-backed militias has been waging several attacks in southeast Syria in Daraa province and along the border line with Iraq.

The lack in manpower makes due to high rate of defection in the early days of the Syrian uprising and the daily killing. Activists estimated that about 60,000 troops and militants killed in the 7-year-old war.
For that, Bashar al-Assad's militants have turned the backbone of forces fighting rebels and the Islamic State.

 At least 470,000 people have been killed since the revolution erupted in March 2011, according to the Syrian Center for Policy Research, a Beirut-based NGO.
