Deputy Leader of the opposition National
Coalition and Comptroller General of Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood has accused
the United States policy in Syria of disappointing the Syrian People at all
aspects not only in the military support.
In special interview with Zaman Alwasl, Mohammed
Farouq Tayfour said, “At the beginning of Syrian Revolution we believed that the
American support would be with a benefit, because the revolution’s aims go in-line
with the Human Rights principles, and the American general policy. However,
unfortunately, the American support was little and more restricted while the Russian
and Iranian support is unlimited to Assad’s regime, he added.
Very soon the chemical deal revealed another
face for U.S. when Mr. Barak Obama left
the Syrian crisis to Russian, even they described Assads running to deliver the
chemical weapon as appositive sign, ignoring his brutality and the crimes were
committed against the Syrian people to be freed of any punishment, according to
Tayfour.
BM leader said that Robert Ford, the
American Ambassador who is responsible for Syrian Revolution file had explained
that USA aimed to achieve balance between opposition and Syrian regime before
the American election in 2012, and they were worried from opposition’s ability
to overthrow the regime any time before election.
Mr.
Tayfour called for International community support and help from Friends of
Syria to provide aid and support to people in need as the Assad regime is adopting
starvation policy to punish Syrian people, unfortunately, coalition and most
the charitable and humanitarian organizations cannot afford more that 10% of
people’s needs, he added.
He stressed that main opposition group,
the National Coalition has done its best to break the heavy siege especially in
al-Ghouta, Homs, as well they demanded the international community to establish
safe corridors to deliver essential needs for people under siege.
Regarding the Islamic State in Iraq and The
Levant, BM leader said: “we try to avoid any clashes or engagement between
ISIS and the Free Syrian Army, and FSA has reached to agreements with it in
many areas, we hope it would stop any invasion and control of liberated areas,
as it entered al-Raqqa and Azaz after they were liberated already.”
The
first priority is to unify all forces to overthrow the regime and afterward
they would start building the civil country.
He considered it too soon to deal with
ISIS as a State aims to separate from Syria, and he thought that constitution
and governmental institution can inforce law, not by the power of arms. Mr. Tayfour hold the Syrian regime
responsibility for any extremism or sectarian struggle, either in Lebanon or
Syria, even in Iraq.
According to the New Syria whether if it
will be Islamic or not, Tayfour considered implementing Islam’s roles by force
unacceptable, as he considered the future government and its institutions which
would be responsible for applying the roles and constitution.
He stressed that Muslim Brotherhood in
Syria is a sample of moderate Islam and he does not feel that difficult time
the movement has in Egypt could affect them in Syria, despite what is happening
in Egypt these days affect all the Arab World.
What ever happens in Syria, it’s not a civil war as the western media alleged, Tayfour said, the best evidence contradicts that claim is the National Coalition itself which founded of all sects and ethnicities, he added.
