(Zaman Al Wasl)- Two top army officers killed in an explosive device planted by the Islamic State in the eastern countryside of Aleppo province on Saturday, pro-regime media outlets said.
M. General Wahib Sakr and his fellow Ghassan Rached along with an officer and driver were killed when the explosive device detonated near their car southeastern Maskana town.
Sakr gained fame for leading campaign of Kuwairis military airport in Aleppo last year.
Last week, the commander of regime army in al-Badiyat M.General Fuad Khaddour was killed in al-Arak area near Palmyra desert, 26 miles, 40 km east of Homs city.
42 regime troops, including 11 officers, had been killed by the Islamic State last June, regime news feeds said.
