(Zaman Al Wasl) The Electronic Army of the Syrian Revolution hackered Tele Liban’s, the Lebanese state television channel, website in response to the massacre the Lebanese Army committed in al-Nour refugee camp in the town of Arsal on the Lebanese-Syrian border.
Speaking to Zaman al-Wasl, a spokesman for the Electronic Army, who introduced himself as al-Qaisi, said, “The attack is not the first of its kind, and it will not be the last one. It is not directed against the Lebanese people but is a message to the gangs that control Lebanon in the name of the Lebanese army and government which are subordinate to the Hezbollah militia which is involved in killing and oppressing Syrians’ demands for freedom.”
Al-Qaisi stressed that their message does not aim at sedition and it not an attack on the Lebanese people, but revenge for the innocent people killed in this recent operation Arsal.
The spokesman said that they still control the government sites, including sovereign ministries and the sites of administrative bodies which the Electronic Army has not announced are targets. According to al-Qaisi, the Army will announce these operations soon confirming that these attacks will repeat and many of the Lebanese governmental sites will remain under the Electronic Army’s control until the message is received.
The Electronic Army of the Syrian Revolution broadcasted on a statement on Tele Liban saying, the “Lebanese Army killed 19 young men and arrested 400 others and ran over a girl with a tank.” The statement ended saying, “Arsal’s crimes are unforgivable,” after reminding the Lebanese people that Syrians opened their homes to them during the Israeli aggression on southern Lebanon in 2006.
In late June, the Lebanese army launched a raid and arrest campaign against Syrians living in al-Nour refugee camp in the al-Jumlah area of Arsal. The campaign resulted in the killing of 19 civilians, and the arrest of 400 people as part of a Lebanese Army operation.
According to Zaman al-Wasl’s sources, the number of victims of the Lebanese Army campaign on al-Nour camp increases as some of the men detained by the Army have since been killed. Zaman al-Wasl recently published a report about two brothers who were arrested by the Army in the campaign and subsequently killed.
More than one million Syrian refugees are living in Lebanon where they face difficult circumstances and suffering compounded by the repeated violations of the Lebanese authorities (the army and public security), in light of the extensive control of the Hezbollah militia on the joints of the state and its most important decision-making centers.
