Deir ez-Zor: Improvement in electricity supply

The second electrical transformer at the Al-Taym substation in Deir ez-Zor Governorate has been commissioned, with a capacity of 125 MVA. This has increased the available power supply to the governorate and improved the overall electricity situation.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the new transformer began operating last Friday and was initially loaded with 50 MW, raising the total available power to Deir ez-Zor to approximately 115 MW.

The commissioning of the transformer has led to improved electricity supply hours, now exceeding 12 hours per day, with the possibility of a gradual increase in capacity as the grid stabilizes.

The transformer's commissioning comes after more than four weeks of installation and preparation work carried out by the Deir ez-Zor power transmission teams in cooperation with the Damascus Electricity Transmission Directorate, despite high temperatures and challenging working conditions.

The commissioning of the second transformer is expected to have a positive impact on grid stability and improve electricity availability across the governorate.
