ISIS blast kills 4 Asayish members in Hasaka

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Four members of Asayish, Kurdish Police force, were killed on Monday when a car bomb set off near their base in Hasaka province, residents and Asayish said.

A Kurdish official confirmed to Reuters that the attack targeting a checkpoint operated by the Asayish but had no further details. 

Asayish runs the security in the autonomous Kurdish cantons as the backbone of Kurdish army, YPG, leads a U.S.-backed alliance against ISIS in Raqqa in northeastern Syria. 

The Director of Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Rami Abdulrahman said the attack took place near the village of Tel Tamr, some 30 km from the Syrian-Turkish border. Syrian state TV also reported the deaths of four people in a car bomb attack in the area, but said it had taken place in the nearby town of Ras al-Ayn.
