Syrian refugees suffer lack of water in Kilis camp

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian refugees in the Kilis 2 camp, adjacent to the Syrian border in the south of Turkey, suffer from serious problems in securing drinking water.

The water is not being pumped into the caravans in which Syrian live, forcing several of them to dig near the main pipelines to secure their needs of water.

Abu Azzam al-Mari told Zaman al-Wasl that the water in the camp since last Ramadan is insufficient, and does not reach the caravans located in the middle of the camp due to lack of pumping.

Al-Mari pointed out that the people had to fill from the main pipes by digging next to them.

According to Al-Mari, a constant quarrel is taking place between the women of the camp because of lack of water, and the suffering that the residents of the camp face during the process of obtaining water.

The camp, according to a number of displaced people, saw a demonstration calling for the rehabilitation of the water situation.

A number of displaced people in the Kilis-based camp, through Zaman al-Wasl, wished the Turkish authorities to look into their condition, secure water for them and remove the corrupt from the camp.
