(Zaman Al Wasl)- Lebanese soldiers raided al-Qariya refugee camp in the town of Arsal on Wednesday in search for "terrorists linked to ISIS."
Eyewitnesses told Zaman al-Wasl that the raid was the most violent after Tahrir al-Sham and Saraya Ahl al-Sham and ISIS left Arsal in July and August this year.
They said that the raid began by encircling the camp before breaking into a residential compound known as Abu Taqiya compound. The the military unit arrested 3 “wanted” and they are Lebanese citizens from al-Hujairi and al-Amoun families. The third is Syrian citizen. They were arrested on charges of affiliation with “Terrorist parties”
Commenting on the operation, the General Command of the Lebanese Army, the Directorate of Guidance, issued a statement that reads “ On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at 14.00 hours and in Wadi Hamid area in Arsal, an intelligence patrol seized explosives with full parts and and complementary materials which are shells filled with explosives directed and ignition devices and detonator and lightning and other packages in several sizes and lightning, and powder materials and aluminum powder for the explosion of various types, and several explosive belts. Experts from the engineering division have worked to decrypt and deal with them".
In the same context, a group affiliated with Lebanese Information Branch raided Wednesday morning the home of the Syrian refugee, Khaled Fayad Pro from the town of Mashirfa in Western Qalamoon and arrested him on charges of belonging to ISIS in addition to being accused of booby-trapped cars and preparing for suicide operations.
The attack was carried out by the Lebanese army today with a large security and military encirclement of the house of Mustafa al-Hujairi, known as Abu Taqia, who is known for his support for the Syrian revolution for his assistance in kidnapping Lebanese soldiers who had been killed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and ISIS Led by Muwafaq al-Jarban known as Abu al-Sous".
Last week, security forces arrested the son of al-Hujairi Obada who his confessions speed up the track down prosecution of Abu Taqia; one of the most wanted of the Lebanese in Arsal, according to analysts.
