Turkey releases regime military pilot after 7 months in detention

 (Zaman Al Wasl)- Turkish authorities has released a Syrian pilot who was detained seven months ago after he ejected from his warplane at the Turkish border, pro-regime Masdar News reported on Thursday.

Colonel Mohamed Soufan, 55, has been freed by the Turkish 3rd Court in the Hatay Province over a Russian mediation, the Lebanon-based news site said. Adding that the Turkish authorities are finalizing the paperwork to transfer Colonel Soufan to Syria.

Syrian activists have accused the Turkey of being lenient and tolerant with the ‘ criminal pilot, who with hundreds if Syrian regime military pilots have bombed opposition-held areas by thousands of barrel bombs that claimed lives of almost half million people.
