(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 15 regime forces killed in an ambush set up by Faylaq al-Rahman group in the embattled Eastern Ghouta Suburbs near Damascus, spokesman said on Thursday.
Wael Alwan said Faylaq al-Rahman fighters have foiled regime attempt to advance into Ein Tarma and Jobar neighborhoods by using tunnels.
The key rebel group has ambushes regime forces and allied Shiite fighters for 13 times, killing dozens, Alwan said.
Also, in Ghouta, 6 people have been killed in regime artillery shelling on Douma city, northeastern the capital, local activists said on Thursday.
The ground bombardment extended to Saqba and Jobar neighborhood in the besieged suburbs.
Meanwhile, more than 1,100 children are suffering from acute malnutrition in Eastern Ghouta area outside the Syrian capital, the U.N.’s children’s fund UNICEF said Monday.
Based on surveys done in recent months, the body said 1,114 children were suffering from various forms of malnutrition, including the most dangerous form, known as “severe acute malnutrition.”
