Israel's warplanes hit more than one site on Wednesday's attack: source

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A well-informed source revealed to Zaman al-Wasl that two sites were hit in Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday night in Damascus and central Homs province.

The first site was in the town of Bloudan, west of Damascus besides the Industerial district of Hisya south of the city of Homs. The Syrian regime tried to cover up targeted sites by announcing that Israel had only struck a copper factory in Hisya.

The first site was targeted by two fighter jets crossed the Syrian airspace from the Lebanese border and carried out the bombing over the Shamsin field (25 km south of Homs), specifically above the new Thirds Corps Leadership new before leaving the airspace.

He added that the Brigade 19 subordinate to of Air Defense Forces (S 200) in Shanshar fired surface-to-air missile without downing the aircraft.

The source revealed that the Israeli raids hit two targets in the area, the first is inside the ammunition depot of the Army Division 11 west of Hisya and the raid destroyed it completely.

Hezbollah militia was using this site largely because of its proximity to the Lebanese border.

The second target, according to the same source, was one of the factories of the industrial city in Hisya. There were conflicting reports regarding the targeted factory. One of the workers reported that the fire started in two factories; one of them located in the heavy industry area and the second in the chemicals section adjacent.

The source reporting from the worker said the explosions occurred in al-Falzat factory and they call it the copper factory owned by the close to Bashar Assad, Emad Hamsho, and the fire was burning before moving to a section of the paint factory near, because of the size of large explosions and because of the proximity of the two of them.

The source attributed the Israeli bombardment of the Hmsho steel melting factory to the fact that Israel considers the factory the main supplier to regime and Hezbollah in securing the initial plates necessary for the manufacture of rocket objects, warheads and various explosives containers. The factory is a metal melting furnace for metals and the manufacture of various types of treated metal mixtures.

Last year, Israel sent an ultimatum through one of its media stations, saying that the supply of these plates to Hezbollah continued, according to the same source.

The source also reported from the worker that this was the second time the factory was targeted. Two unknown explosions took place on February 8, 2014, which resulted in a long period of suspension.

In the countryside of Damascus, the second site hit by the Israeli aircraft targeted two sites near the border town Bloudan where Hezbollah is deployed, according to the source.

The source revealed that the first target was Bloudan Tower which contains a building of two floors. Hezbollah took the building as monitoring and tapping site after the withdrawal of the Syrian resistance forces from them previously.

The source added that the second target is a building on Mount Yonan (Yonan Palace) where Hezbollah Intelligence were deployed.

The Israeli air force said it struck arms convoys of the Syrian military and its Lebanese ally, the Iran-backed Hezbollah, about 100 times in recent years.
