(Zaman Al Wasl)- The Islamic State group arrested 8 members tried to escape from last ISIS stronghold in southern Damascus suburbs on Friday, sources told Zaman al-Wasl.
The move came after came after 19 Daesh fighters, including commanders, were evacuated from the district of al-Hajer al-Aswad over the week under the protection of the Assad regime. Some of them have reached Turkey, according to the source.
Following the arrest , ISIS has ordered to kill any fighters attempt to run into regime-held areas.
Last June, UN and regime delegates met with ISIS commanders in al-Hajer al-Aswad to seal an agreement allowing fighters of the radical group to leave the capital toward Syrian desert where ISIS still controls pockets in eastern Homs and Badiya.
The long-awaited deal is due to eliminate all rebels and jihadist from Yarmouk Camp and al-Hajer al-Aswad south of Damascus except the eastern district.
About 2000 ISIS fighters with their families aim to head the Syrian desert, also known as al-Badia, despite the recent clashed with US-backed forces along the border.
Three regime troops were killed when ISIS militants attacked their checkpoints in al-Tadhamon neighbourhood near al-Hajer al-Swad on Wednesday.
Amaq claimed that ISIS members took buildings from regime army near al-Tadhamon neighborhood, killing three soldiers.
In retaliation, the regime forces have pounded ISIS-held areas in tadhamon and Yarmouk camp with heavy artillery.
