US forces raid Syrian village, kidnap two people

(Zaman Al Wasl)- US army forces raided Syrian village on the Iraqi border and kidnapped a man and an Iraqi refugee woman late on Monday, sources told Zaman al-Wasl.

The raid took place in the village of Beer al-Helu, an area was cleared from Daesh near al-Yaarubiya border crossing in Hasaka province.

Over the week, Islamic State fighters took ground from Iraqi Shiite militias on the Iraqi border after a surprise attack began on Friday.

Activist Muhannad Yousef said the the ISIS suicide bombers attacked three checkpoint for al-Hashd al-Sha’bi near Tel Sufouk area southeastern Hasaka province.

In retaliation, The Iraqi army and the ‘General Mobilization’ forces pounded ISIS-held villages with mortar and artillery 

The Islamic State still controls territory in the Syrian desert, also known as Badiya, that lies between three provinces, Homs, Deir Ezzor and Damascus suburbs.

Reports assure that ISIS is not losing power even with victory declarations by the Syrian regime and US-led Kurdish forces.

ISIS recaptured 6 villages from the regime forces near the Iraqi border in eastern Deir Ezzor province on Tuesday, the group's official news agency said.

The U.S.-led Syrian Democratic Forces formed a joint military center with the Iraqi army last week to protect their common border region after ousting Islamic State militants, Reuters reported.
