Islamist rebels make gains in Qamishli, Kurdish Militant YPG retreats

Islamist rebels have defeated militant group affiliated to pro-Assad Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Qamishli countryside and have seized all towns except for two villages, activists reported.

Islamic Front main unit, Ahrar Al Sham Movement, said it took control of the countryside of Qamishli city, except of Tel Maarouf and Khazna villages after defeating the armed wing of PYD, Kurdish People Protection Committees (YPG).
