Jaish al-Izza Announces Homs al-Adiya Brigade to Merge with Jaish al-Izza

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Spokesman for Jaish al-Izza tens of rebel fighters from central Homs province has joined the key FSA group in the northern countryside of Hama.

Captain Mustafa Maarati told Zaman al-Wasl that the leadership of Jaish al-Izza and some of the opposition leaders from Homs city who left the city three years ago for northern Syria have been holding intensive meetings.

The meetings culminated in an agreement to merge Homs al-Adiya Brigade commanded by Abdul Basset al-Sarout into the ranks of Jaish al-Izza.

The Captain explained that through the merger they aim, “to fight the criminal Syrian regime hand in hand with the fighters and rebels of Homs city who have a lot of military expertise and competencies and they have a long history in the battlefields. Among their heroes are many officers who have been absent due to some problems from the battlefield but who have good experience fighting.”

Captain Maarati said, “Jaish al-Izza has great pride in integrating the heroes of Homs al-Adiya within their ranks especially Abdul Basset al-Sarout who the neighborhoods and alleyways of Homs were a witness to his heroism and courage.”

“Everyone is watching and witnessing the mobilization of the regime forces and Iranian militias with Russian support in northern and eastern Hama with the aim of launching an attack on the liberated areas in northern Syria. We need each fighter and rebel to confront the regime forces and Iranian militias and thwart their schemes,” he said.

Captain Maarati clarified that Jaish al-Izza’s internal system welcomes any and all fighters to join them. “Our doors are open to all for us to become one hand defending the principles of the revolution that we came out for with the aim of overthrowing the regime in all its symbols and protecting civilians from the terror of the Iranian and al-Assad militias and to achieve freedom for all Syrians which ensures their dignity,” he said.

While Captain Maarati refused to give any figures on the number of fighters with Homs Al-Adiya Brigades who will join the ranks of the Jaish al-Izza on the basis these are military secrets.

For his part Abdul Basset al-Sarout said to Zaman al-Wasl, “We as the rebels and fighters of the city of Homs al-Adiya, have decided to join the ranks of Jaish al-Izza subordinate to the Free Syrian Army to defend our people, our land, our honor and to sacrifice our blood for this free people. Our aim is to work together with all the opposition fighters for us to be in one trench together and stand together as one man in the face of this regime which has destroyed humans and stone and displaced women and children.”

The fighters of the city of Homs left the city in mid-2014 as part of the systematic displacement process adopted by the regime forces. The process aims at emptying these cities of their people with an aim to change the demography of these cities especially Homs and Damascus.
