Tens freed from al Qaeda prison in Al Dana near Idlib

Rebels of Al Mujahedeen Army, who took control of Al Dana, last Islamic Emirate of Al Qaeda State ‘Iraq and The Levant’ in Idlib Province, had freed dozens of hostages and abductees, according to Zaman Alwasl sources.

‘The Black Room’ is a horrific prison situated in a basement under ISIL Shariah court, where Al Qaeda radicals used to torture their rivals from rebels and media activists, people of Al Dana said.

Activist Samar Saleh, who was kidnapped on August 15 2013, has been freed too, Zaman Alwasl source said.

Since Friday, along with the Syrian Revolutionaries Front and the nascent Mujahedeen Army, the Islamic Front has been engaged in fierce fighting with ISIS in rebel-held areas.

The latest clashes broke out Friday after residents accused ISIS members of killing a doctor in Syria’s northern province of Aleppo.

Rebel fighters, who seized Wednesday ISIL’s HQ in Aleppo,  are looking for more gains by expelling al-Qaeda militants from Syrian Land, Mujahedeen Army say in statement.

Syria's armed uprising began as a series of peaceful democracy protests 33 months ago but escalated into a full-blown civil war after Assad's regime launched a brutal crackdown on dissent.

The conflict is estimated to have killed around 130,000 people and displaced millions more.
