Regime army used chlorine gas in Eastern Ghouta attack: rescuing group

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian rescuing agency on Saturday accused the regime army of using chlorine gas against the civilians in Douma, main town of the besieged Eastern Ghouta suburbs.

The Civil Defense said the regime army hit the town of Douma with three surface-to-surface missiles loaded by chlorine gas. Dozen of people suffered suffocation as a result of the attack.

On Friday, family of four, including 3 children, killed in fresh air strikes on the district of Hammouriya.

The shelling and bombardment of besieged Ghouta, where the humanitarian conditions have sharply deteriorated in recent months, has also claimed a heavy toll on civilians.

The death toll of regime’s major offensive topped to 135 in a week of heavy bombardment on the Sunni enclave of eastern Damascus.

The Failaq al-Rahman group said it had ambushed regime forces, killing 6 fighters from the army's elite Republican Guard in Irbin battlefront.

More than 470,000 people have been killed and 12 millions have been driven from their homes since Syria's revolution erupted in 2011.
