(Zaman Al Wasl)- ISIS has arrested tens of fighters and civilians who planned to flee the southern suburbs of Damascus to regime-held areas, sources told Zaman al-Wasl on Saturday.
The extremist group launched an arrest campaign tracking members who want to flee al-Hajar al-Aswad district, the main ISIS enclave in the capital.
Some of ISIS members paid $4300 for regime forces at Barada checkpoint to facilitate their escape, activists say.
Activist Ayham al-Omar said some ISIS wounded had received treatment in the regime-held areas. 13 wounded were admitted to al-Mahayni Hospital in Damascus early January.
