U.S.-led airstrikes kill 11 people east of Deri Ezzor

(Zaman Al Wasl)- The U.S.-led airstrikes on a village held by Daesh (ISIS) in the eastern part of Deir Ezzor province killed at least 11 people on Saturday, the group’s social media accounts reported.

The strikes on the village of al-Bahra come as the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces press to seize last ISIS pockets in the eastern province.

Last week, U.S.-led airstrikes on Shafah, a village east of the Euphrates, killed 13 people including seven women, Reuters said.

The militant group still holds patches of desert on either side of the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor province, as well as isolated pockets of ground elsewhere in Syria.

U.S.-led Coalition reported on January 22 that it had killed an estimated 145-150 Daesh fighters in a command center near Shafah.
