U.S.-led airstrikes kill 17 people east of Euphrates: Amaq

 
(Zaman Al Wasl)- The U.S.-led airstrikes on a village held by Daesh (ISIS) in the eastern part of Deir Ezzor province killed at least 17 people on Monday, the group’s news agency said.

Amaq said the the deadly strikes on Sha’fah east of Euphrates left 17 people killed and dozen more wounded after two weeks since 13 people, including seven women, killed in the US-led bombing on the ISIS-held village.

On Saturday, U.S. airstrikes on the village of al-Bahra killed at least 38 people, including twenty women and seven children, according to Amaq.

U.S.-led Coalition reported on January 22 that it had killed an estimated 145-150 Daesh fighters in a command center near Shafah.

The aerial campaign come as the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces press to seize last ISIS pockets in the eastern province.

The militant group still holds patches of desert on either side of the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor province, as well as isolated pockets of ground elsewhere in Syria.
