ISIS kills 12 SDF fighters in eastern Deir Ezzor

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Daesh (Islamic State) fighters on Friday have recaptured ground from the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces near the Iraqi border, the radical group said in statement.

ISIS attack on the YPG-led forces killed 8 fighters near the town of al-Sha'fah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

ISIS also advanced near the village of al-Bukhater east of the town of al-Hajeen.

Four SDF members were killed in rocket attack on the village of al-Bahra, according to ISIS statement.

ISIS rose to prominence in the chaos of Syria’s conflict, which broke out in 2011 with protests against Bashar al-Assad.

It has since evolved into a complex war that has killed more than 470,000 people, forced millions more to flee, and left much of the country in ruins.
