(Zaman Al Wasl)- Hezbollah militants based near the Occupied Golan Heights have been on alert since shooting down the Israeli F-16 week ago, activists told Zaman al-Wasl on Saturday.
The Lebanese militia in Quneitra province has received heavy weapons and reinforcement, said local activist who preferred to be nicknamed as Abu Obaidah.
Quneitra is witnessing a major security alert in the ranks of the militia, according to Abu Obaida. Hezbollah is located in in al-Fawwar Spring, the town of al-Amal Farms and Al-Hays in the central Quneitra district. 20 km (about 13 miles) far from the border.
Abu Ubaida said regime forces and Hezbollah have been mobilizing troops and building shields, and armouring their vehicles.
Activists said the regime forces and Hezbollah seek to launch an attack on opposition-held areas in the northern countryside of Quneitra to press further into the border, such aim may trigger the region to a new conflict.
Israel’s airstrikes on army's T4 military airport in Syria desert last week had killed seven Iranians, including pilots and experts, well-informed sources told Zaman al-Wasl.
The Israeli strikes in retaliation to its downed F-16 were very accurate and effective. The four launch-bases of the Iranian drones were completely destroyed, according to sources.
Three Syrian troops were also wounded in the attack.
