Schools closed in Daraa as bombing renews

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Schools in the opposition-held areas of Daraa have been closed on Thursday as regime forces renewed ground shelling on the southern province.

Mohamed al-Wadi, Head of Education Directorate, said the suspension of teaching process was due to concerns over students safety.

A women killed and ten more people wounded in regime artillery fire in Daraa on Wednesday, according to local activists.

The regime’s heavy shelling was in retaliation to mortar rounds hit the pro-regime  city of al-Ba’ath in Quneitra province.

Activists said rebel factions had pounded the neighborhoods of al-Kashef and Shamal al-Khat with 35 shells.
