Rebels counteract ISIL's reinforcement in Manbij north Aleppo

Syrian rebels counteracted Al Qaeda reinforcement's convoy to the city of Manbij north Aleppo, source said.

The State of Iraq and The Levant (ISIL) waged a severe campaign to recapture its bases and strongholds in Aleppo province in similar scenario to Raqqa east Syria. But it is different case analysts said in Aleppo countryside.

Manbij has been witnessing violent clashes for the last two weeks to expel ISIL Jihadis from city.

Islamist rebels on Friday seized Base 46, last headquarters for the State of Iraq and The Levant (ISIL) in western countryside of Aleppo, Islamic Front sources told Zaman Alwasl.

The former regular army base was under rebels’ control before expelling them by ISIL and controlling the ammunition depots.

Rebels consider retaking the base is big victory against the radical group, activists say.

People of the neighboring town, Al Atareb, have praised the important event because ISIL’s militants used to attack them from the base.

Since a fortnight, the Syrian Revolutionaries Front and the nascent Mujahedeen Army, the Islamic Front has been engaged in fierce fighting with ISIL in rebel-held areas.

Last week, rebels overran the Aleppo headquarters of the ISIL, as claims emerged that the Al-Qaeda linked group had massacred prisoners there in cold blood.

IF rebels also made a progress in Jarabulus and the industrial zone of Sheikh Najjar near Aleppo city against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Zaman Alwasl reporter said.

In relevant development, rebels ambushed yesterday Assad’s army troops in Sheikh Said district of Aleppo on Thursday, leaving 20 soldiers dead, Islamic Front source told Zaman Alwasl.

As a response to the mounting loss, ISIL carried a string of car bombs have hit the Islamist rebels' barracks and checkpoints since the infighting has erupted two weeks ago.

Suicide attacks and blasts seemed to be one of most dangerous war strategies by Al Qaeda radicals, which left dozens of people killed and wounded.

The recent car bombs were in Idlib and Aleppo like Jarabulus, Darkoush, Kafr Nouran, Auweirig village and most formed ISIL’s headquarters.

Syrian activists yesterday posted online a warning for people of rebel-held areas to avoid strange things and to report about any suspicions of weird cars and baggage.

Syrian conflict is estimated to have killed around 130,000 people and displaced millions more.
