Major Islamist groups are endorsing political solution for the Syrian crisis, Zaman Alwasl sources say.
The
powerful Islamic Front, Syria revolutionaries and Jund al Islam have agreed on
a political solution, “that did not mean their approval to go to the planned
Geneva peace conference on Jan 22,” the source said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has
conveyed the rebels message to the National Coalition in the last few days.
Syria's main political opposition group in exile agreed on Saturday to attend internationally sponsored peace talks.
The
agreement by the Syrian National Coalition - and the chance of fighters backing
the process - will be a boost for Western supporters of the "Geneva
2" talks seen as the most serious global effort yet to end the near
three-year conflict, Reuters said.
