Forces loyal to Bashar
al-Assad are preparing to attack rebel towns in the countryside of Homs city,
activists say.
7000 regular soldiers
and 2000 militants (National Defence militia) backed with 20 tanks will break
into rebel-held towns of al-Zara and al-Huson towns in western Homs
countryside, Khaled al-Husni say to Zaman Alwasl. .
People of the besieged
towns are afraid of an imminent massacre, source says.
Al-Huson town contains
550 displaced families who fled bombing in the neighboring areas. Husni say
Syria's armed uprising
began as a series of peaceful democracy protests 33 months ago but escalated
into a full-blown civil war after Assad's regime launched a brutal crackdown on
dissent.
The conflict is
estimated to have killed around 130,000 people and displaced millions more.
