Nusra fighters to evacuate al-Qadam district to Idlib

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Tahrir al-Sham and rebel groups based in southern suburbs of Damascus have agreed to evacuate al-Qadam district on Saturday, source told Zamana al-Wasl.

The evacuation process of former al-Qaeda fighters and some Islamist factions has begun as tens of fighters with their families will leave to the northern province of Idlib.

The regime army gave rebels a 48-hour timeout to leave al-Qadam to avoid the military attack.

In Eastern suburbs of the capital, Jaish al-Islam said on Friday it had agreed to evacuate Nusra Front fighters being held in its prisons to Idlib.

Syrian state television then showed footage it said was of 13 fighters and their families beginning to leave the besieged enclave on the outskirts of Damascus.

In a statement on Twitter on Friday, Jaish al-Islam, one of the main factions in eastern Ghouta, said the decision had been made in consultation with the United Nations, a number of international parties and civil society representatives from eastern Ghouta.
