Prominent doctor freed by assistance of Douma rebels


A prominent doctor has been freed by assistance Douma rebels after 73 days of detention without identifying the kidnappers, according to Zaman Alwasl reporter.

Activists accused Key al-Qaeda group in Syria, al-Nusra Front, of kidnapping Dr. Ahmed Salim al-Boukaei and prominent activists Razan Zeitouneh but the Front had denied the accusations in a statement obtained by Zaman Alwasl.

Ahmed Taha, commander of Douma Martyrs brigade, said many rebel battalions had cooperated to release the field doctor as Um Al Mou’mineen brigade and his brigade.

Taha told Zaman Alwasl that rebels' command room in eastern Ghouta took into account  all kidnapping cases of Syrian revolutions activists where rebels "are actively pursuing their release, including Zeitouneh."
