(Zaman Al Wasl)- Jaish Tahrir al-Sham on Wednesday launched surprise attack on regime army bastions in the Qalamoun region east of the capital, media activist told Zaman al-Wasl.
The rebel group backed by resistance factions based in Qalamoun Mountains has hit regime posts in the area of Mehsa Al-Qaryatayn, leaving 10 troops killed, , accoridng to the activist Wesam Abdul Nour.
Mehsa Al-Qaryatayn considered as a strategic supply route for rebels since it links the eastern Qalamoun and the eastern countryside of Homs province.
Jaish Tahrir al-Sham is not affiliated to Haya’t Tahrir al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front; It has been formed by moderate rebels from Qalamoun region.
