Pro-Assad artists make propaganda visit to Eastern Ghouta

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Pro-Bashar al-Assad artists visited Eastern Ghouta suburbs on Thursday in what they said to congratulate the army for its ‘great victory and wiping off the terrorists.’

The propaganda visit followed six weeks of ferocious aerial campaign by Damascus and Moscow that killed 1600 people displaced 130,000 more.

The Assad regime said the eastern district of the capital had been freed from rebels after evacuating thousands of them to northern Syria and reducing entire suburbs to rubble.

Also on Thursday, the16th convoy carrying civilians from Eastern Ghouta has arrived in Al-Bab district.

The convoy of buses carried 633 people, including 233 children and 180 women, who will be provided with temporary accommodation in Al-Bab's Kabassin district.

According to Anadolu Agency correspondents based in the area, evacuations remain ongoing from different parts of Eastern Ghouta.

Turkey’s Operation Euphrates Shield, launched in late 2016, and liberated Al-Bab from the Daesh terrorist group.

The operation, which ended in March of last year, largely succeeded in purging the Turkish-Syrian border area of the terrorist presence.

At least 50,000 people have been evacuated from Eastern Ghouta since the evacuation process began on Mar. 22. With AA
