(Zaman Al Wasl)- Two civilians killed on Friday in a rocket attack by the U.S.-backed forces on ISIS pockets in eastern Deir Ezzor province, local activists said.
The two family members were killed due to the bombing of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the town of al-Sousa in the last enclave of Daesh group.
An ISIS commander and his brother were also killed in drone attack along the border with Iraq south of Hasaka province as the Iraqi warplanes carried out raids on ISIS strongholds.
Activists said French troops were deployed near the oil fields northeast of Deir Ezzor city, replacing the US-led coalition units in the area.
Meanwhile clashes continued between Daesh and regime troops in a desert area lies between Deri Ezzor and Homs.
Last Wednesday, the SDF made a prisoner swap with Daesh in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
20 captives from each side were exchanged in al-Omar gas field, as a second swap deal will take place in a month, activist Abdul Rahman al-Kheder told Zaman al-Wasl.
The freed ISIS fighters were from different nationalities while the freed SDF fighters where 9 YPG fighters and 10 from the Deir Ezzor Military Council.
The exchange coincides with a truce between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces and ISIS in al-Hajeen town nearby villages at the Iraqi border.
The SDF, an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias, have pushed Islamic State from much of the country’s north and east.
